i think so 2, because i see people that have been playing games 4 the longest time, and they still cant play well, they don’t know the buttons on most. The people that are more “bright” know the buttons already and beats the game in like a couple of weeks.

I think you’re dreaming pal. What are you basing this on? Your opinion? I think there is something to be said about people who like computers/video games usually being smart (or smarter than usual) but that tired cliche is beginning to not always ring true the further we get into the “computer age.” I.Q. tests don’t measure hand-eye coordination or reflexes…which is about all video games “test.” Sure, there are some that have puzzles aspects in them…and some are really difficult to solve…but I don’t think a video game puzzle is a really good way to judge someone’s intelligence.
Show me some sort of research that backs up your claims…then I might be more inclined to entertain your theories.

yeah? well I have an IQ of 180 and when I think of all the time and money I wasted on stupid video games instead of using it, I feel really stupid!
Video games are repetitive, pointless time-consuming B.S.
Its obvious you want to feel better about your own child wasting so much time.
Well, its better than being on the streets, I suppose, but don’t try to make it into a positive thing.

and a nice opinion about that too.
What of the ones who could not figure it out or not have high I.Q., what effect do that have on the player?
ok, to look at the other end of the spectrum (so to speak) what about older people or young adults who tend to abuse their time they had on the games that affects their I.Q. or personality into an addictive (like gamblers have playing poker machines) behaviour at the time.
I guess statistically speaking more males would play a goal oriented game in whatever catagory (like shoot-em-ups, role-playinjg) as opposed to girls would play either puzzle or non-goal based games (like sim’s as one example), that I want to make a note that is my observation (generally speaking). I haven’t measured this so don’t just take my word on it.
I hear from a current affair show (to support my case) that one mother could not understand not only the attitude of a teenager who’s personality completely changed (according to her) since playing the game for several days almost non-stop. So there was some learned helplessness from her about it to a degree.
interesting to the behaviour of that child who can easliy throw a temper tandrum, etc..
