I know lots of people who play video games. My friend got an 18 game when he was 7! I think there should be a limit to 18s but not to others. Your son should be allowed 12+.

If hes 8 then sure there should be a line that the games cant cross. For instance you shouldnt let your son play any grand theft auto games etc.

I would let him play video games, but put a limit on it. Something like 30 mins to an hour a day. Also, if he’s only 8, make sure not to buy him M-rated games. All games say their rating at the bottom of the box. Also, be sure to buy a console with less violent games, like the Nintendo Wii. The Wii is a family console with fun cartoon games for eveyone and starts at about $250. Systems like the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 tend to be more for teenagers or adults.

well you could buy you son the games that say “E”, “EC”, and “E10″ which stand for “everyone” including kids, teen and adult…their not bad games, but if games that have “T”, “M” or “Ao” then those games might include more violence and gore…not suitable for kids that age!

For an eight year old, I wouldn’t get any extreme fighting games, because they will want to copy them. But an Wii with, like, Pokemon Battle Revelotion and a Nintendo DS with Pokemon Diamond/Pearl would do an eight year old well.

there should be a limit on the games he plays but not for how long he plays for but what kind of games u could do this by looking at the ratings on the back of the game case u should not let him play games that are m or t depending on why
