Why Blu-Ray DVD Players Are Superior to DVD Players

by Debby Hahn

There is a reason that so many people are buying - or thinking about buying - Blu-Ray DVD players these days. It is not just because they are the next evolution in movie watching, though that is true. Blu-Ray players are to DVD players, VCRs, and Betamax machines as MP3 players are to CD players, cassette players, record players, and eight track tape players. It is hard to believe we have come so far in such a relatively short time. But we have, and each new evolution has only gotten better. That is why so many people now prefer Blu-Ray.

By all accounts, you cannot beat Blu-Ray when it comes to resolution. Because the discs are digital, there is a clarity and sharpness that cannot be beat. When you pair a Blu-Ray player with a high definition TV, you have a winning combination. The picture will be amazingly realistic. Just compare a 480p resolution in DVDs to the 1080p resolution found in Blu-Ray discs.

The color itself is also admirable in Blu-Ray discs. The digital technology behind Blu-Ray discs makes for a visually stunning picture. It is full to the brim of colors that even the human eye cannot pick out and recognize.

The third reason to choose a Blu-Ray player is the sound quality. You get the best of Dolby TrueHD. It will sound not only like you are in a theatre when you are watching a movie, but rather like you are in the movie itself.

Heck, yet again, you will feel more like you are a part of the film. There is now realism available like our grandparents could never have imagined.

There is also the added bonus of being able to sync up Blu-Ray players with the Internet. The players have Ethernet ports. Just hook it up, and you can be downloading ring tones, games, and all kinds of special features.

Of course, many people are still worried about switching over to Blu-Ray. They do not want to replace the DVDs they already have. Fortunately, this is not a worry. Not only will DVDs play just fine on a Blu-Ray player, but quite often, they will play at a higher clarity and quality. Sometimes they can even be played at 1080p.

When it comes time for you to purchase your new blu-ray dvd player you will find that there are many purchase options online already. There are even listings of used blue ray DVD players appearing online here.
