Every year, the big question for parents across the nation is “What do kids want for Christmas this year?” This year, the answer is easy! Bakugan, based on the popular kids anime show “Bakugan Battle Brawlers,” is the hot new game that kids want, and is a great game for the whole family to enjoy.
The Game: The Bakugans are small colored spheres that morphed into Bakugan warriors when they are rolled and landed on the Bakugan Cards. Each player begins with 3 Bakugan Brawlers and 3 cards, one of which is the ability card. Each player places a card face down, but the ability card cannot be use on your first turn.
Bakugan was developed by Sega Toys and Speen Master, and first released in Japan. It was very successful there and in Canada, and now that it’s been released in the United States, it continues to be just as successful! In fact, many people who enjoy the game are joining leagues to play Bakugan in tournaments.
The Background: Bakugan Battle Brawlers is based on the hugely popular children anime TV show Bakugan Battle Brawlers which debuted in Japan in 2007. It began in the States on The Cartoon Network on February 2008.
It is a story of Dan Kuso and his five online friends who started playing Bakugan when game cards started mysteriously falling from the sky. They learned that Bakugan monsters exist in the dimension of Vestoria. They battle their Bakugan monsters to save the parallel universe of Vestroia and ultimately the Earth from destruction.
Most of these Bakugans are small and can be easily carried in the pocket, but there is the majestic Deka which is larger than a tennis ball. Kids adore collecting all of these figures as much as they enjoy playing with them. The Bakugan Battle Pack starts even a novice player off with 6 different Bakugan warriors, and you never know which ones you will get. Also included are 8 metal gate cards that have the magnetic properties needed to release these mighty warriors from their protective orbs.
