Three Best Flash Games Ever

by Bill Deakin

There are literally thousands of free Flash games all over the Internet, and while there are some true gems in there, many of them are poorly designed and dull. Well fret no more, here are three of the best Flash games of all time – and they are all free!

1. Crush The Castle. As if it wasn’t hard enough choosing a handful of great games for a list like this, I had to pick on game to be FIRST on that list! Well, after a lot of deliberation I finally decided… that the order didn’t matter so I chose this one at random. Crush the Castle is extremely simple (as most great games are) yet is extremely well executed, highly addictive, and great fun. Your aim, as the title suggests, is to knock down a “castle” (collection of girders, planks and people!) using a trebuchet.

The gameplay is very simple, just click the mouse to start the trebuchet’s swing, and once again to release the ammunition. The game starts with only small rocks for ammo, but beating certain levels unlocks bigger rocks, multiple rocks and even bombs. Completing the game takes a good aim, and a certain amount of strategy. You’ll need to carefully choose the right ammo and tactics to crush some of the castles, and beat the entire game. If you love the first game and want more be sure to check out the sequel, and let’s hope for another game in the series soon!

2. Bloons. This is another great game, with very simple but addictive gameplay. Your aim is to burst balloons by throwing darts at them, and while that sounds easy the devilish level designs mean that it takes immense skill and judgement to beat all 50 levels of the game.

You have a limited supply of darts, and the levels are designed in such a way that you’ll need to work out the right strategy for each level. You can pick up powerups along the way, and you’ll encounter special balloons types to burst. It’s a great game, and some of the sequels (such as Bloons tower defence) are almost as good too!

3. Grow Cube. Now this is a strange game, but one that had to be on the list none the less. It doesn’t fit easily into any of the usual categories, but I guess it’s a puzzle game. The idea is to grow the “cube” by pressing the ten buttons in the right order, which makes all sorts of things happen depending on your previous inputs.

Now if that doesn’t sound like much of a game, that’s only because you really need to play this game to understand it. It’s the intricate and funny animations caused by the player’s inputs which make the game so fascinating to play and watch. Get the order wrong and there will be terrible consequences, but get it right and you’ll be rewarded by watching all sorts of things happen in a clever sequence. It’s impossible to get across the beauty of this game in words, so go and play the game and I’m sure you’ll agree with me that its place on this list is well deserved!
