The Internet is a busy place, and there’s so much going on in there. A lot of people ask me what I do on the Internet to keep myself entertained, so I decided to write about it with the hopes of giving you all some direction.

Sites like Digg and StumbleUpon are great when you’re looking for something quick and fun. They’re both great ways to find random and fun articles that you can link to your friends and put on twitter and what not. Sometimes it’s fun to select a channel on StumbleUpon. You can select channels such as CNN or Wikipedia and just get linked to articles on those websites.

Online gambling is always a fun thing to do. I’m an older, married man with kids and I can’t make it to Atlantic City every weekend like I would like to. I can play Blackjack, Poker, and slots all from the console of my couch. Not having to worry about the Atlantic City environment keeps the pressure off, and I tend to do much better online than in real life!

One simple thing that’s fun to do is to join a bunch of forums. Forums are areas for Internet users around the world to host discussions and conversations on boards. There are millions and millions of forums and boards on millions of different websites. I think I am a member of about 20 different forums, each corresponding to a different hobby of mine. I’m on music forums, specifically modern rock and bass guitar forums. It’s great because whenever I have a question about a new purchase about a bass or whatever, I can go online and ask. I usually get some great answers, but of course there are some real jerks on these things so be careful.

So whether you’re online gambling or just wasting some time on Digg, there’s something for everyone on the Internet. Get out there and explore!

I have be come a huge fan of online gambling in the 10 years that I have been a part of it. Since the Internet has grown exponentially stronger and faster, there has never been a better time to be part of this ever-expanding community of fellow card players. Here are some of my reasons why I choose to gamble online rather than do it in real life.

I live in Arizona, and there aren’t many places for me to gamble. I can drive the 7 hour drive to Vegas but that means I have to make a whole trip out of it. I have to pay for a hotel room, gas, food, strip clubs, you name it. If I’m lucky, I’ll win enough to at least break even for my trip in Vegas, but that’s not the reason I wanted to come to Vegas in the first place. I gamble to win money, not to break even for a trip I didn’t want in the first place.

Secondly, I know from experience that when you do go to a place like Vegas, you can easily get swept into the gambling riptide. The casinos never want you to leave, and by using tactics such as removing all clocks from the casino floor, they’ll succeed. You have to be cautious of how much time you spend on the floor. Hours go by and you could be down thousands of dollars but you’ll never know because you’re so into casino environment.

When I play poker online, I love the fact that I am able to be in the comfort of my bed and also be winning tons of money. I don’t need the ra-ra of Vegas to help me win. In fact, I win way more by simply relaxing on my couch or in the backyard because I don’t have to worry about the casino bull crap.

online gambling is definitely a fun and exhilarating thing for gambling lovers to try out. Even if you’re just trying out gambling for the first time, check it out online before going to the casinos.

All of us are vulnerable to make mistakes. We usually make mistakes if we don’t follow the instructions whenever we do something. In order to avoid making mistakes, one should always learn from the errors they made in their pasts.

But some people are hard headed not to learn from their mistakes: they still commit the same mistakes over and over again, no matter what kind of promises they make not to do the same errors again.

That kind of people is rampant at the poker table. Their mistakes often go unnoticed in the public eye. They called these mistakes as leaks because they are small ones but they have tremendous after effects if not corrected. But if you are committing big errors instead of small ones then it’s not leak anymore but a hole. And if you have tremendous holes in your game then it’s time for you to learn the basics again, because this article will focus on leaks not holes.

There are three different kinds of leaks: * Frequent small mistakes * Infrequent small mistakes * Non-strategic mistakes

Mistakes that are frequently place happen when decisions are made up. A small mistake that happens frequently can be defined as something where you play too many suited hands before flop or continuing betting even if your card has no chance to win.

If a small mistake is committed infrequently then it is harder to see. It would be more like playing one or two particular hands instead of playing many suited hands or missing value bets on the river instead of betting on cards with no chance of winning.

The non-strategic errors in the game can be made before the game has started. For instance, playing drunk or tired or playing under-rolled. Not checking out the seats before sitting is a leak. Too tired to check out PokerTracker database or not evaluating your opponents are common example of non-strategic errors in poker.

Errors that are non-strategic are easy to cure. You just need to know your limits and must be aware if you are ready to play or not. If you are not ready emotionally and physically then don’t play. If you can’t wait and stop in order to look for a suitable seating arrangement or select a good table then don’t play.

The best thing you can do is to tell yourself that you are going to spend enough time to check out the best tables and seats in the game. Then spend some time to get to know your opponents. Don’t play if you’re hung over and had a lot to drink. Always be ready physically and mentally before you started playing.

Strategic mistakes are difficult to point out and much harder to correct; particularly if they occur only once in a while. A better poker player will know a frequent leak while analyzing their own play.

Mistakes that happen rarely can be notice by other player who will show you because you can’t see it. In order for you to be aware of such mistakes, you can ask your friends to observe your game play and let them tell you what those errors are. If someone you don’t know ridicules your game by pointing out the mistakes you made, don’t be angered easily. They might be right; you just need to learn not to make the same mistake again.

Committing a lot of mistakes in poker can be very devastating financially - so it’s up to you to learn from your mistakes. Don’t let leaks ruin your game play. The best thing you can do is to admit that you also commit mistakes - through that learn how to make your game play better.

The Triple Crown is garnered by a poker pro who won the three of the most important events in poker and that would be the European Poker Tour (EPT), World Poker Tour (WPT) and the World Series of Poker (WSOP). English professional poker player Roland De Wolfe is fortunate enough to become one of the two players who won the Triple Crown. He even dresses himself with a Union Jack track-suit during the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event where he won his first WSOP bracelet this year showing that his proud to be an Englishman.

The other poker pro who won the Triple Crown was Gavin Griffin. He is the first player who actually got this honor by winning the following events: winning the $3,000 Pot Limit Hold ‘Em at the WSOP in 2004, capturing the EPT Grand Final title in 2007 and succeeding in getting the title at the WPT Borgata classic in 2008.

Roland garnered the first crown of his Triple Crown in 2005 when he won the WPT Grand Prix de Paris. The second one in 2006 when he succeeded during the EPT Dublin Title and then he won his final crown during the $5,000 PLO8 at the 2009 WSOP succeeding against 197 players including Gavin Griffin himself.

Once a contributor at a poker magazine called Edge, De Wolfe admitted that he’s really not familiar with the variety of poker that gave him his first WSOP bracelet. He just combined his knowledge of the PLO and Omaha 8 and came out triumphant.

Roland was already a known face at the European and American poker scene beginning on 2005 when he first made his first WSOP cash in an NLHE event. But do you also know that De Wolfe hugest win came not from the three events where he got his triple crown but from being 3rd in the $25,000 WPT Championship he participated in 2006? He got at least a million dollar from that event.

The WSOP crown was his first win in the US soil but he has a great record in his preceding WSOP events including 14 WSOP cashes and at least $650,000 in WSOP earning throughout his career.

The EPT has been attracting a large number of players since its inception and it will only be a matter of time when the two member club will increase its number. This is due to the fact that a lot of top US players tour Europe in order to participate in the EPT events.

Maybe poker enthusiast will consider adding the Aussie Millions and Asian Pacific Poker Tour in order to form a Grand Slam to augment with the EPT, WPT and WSOP.

As you play the game of poker you will encounter different kind of personalities as you go along. Here are some of the most common profiles of poker players that you might come across.

Enemy or Friend?

Don’t event think that a bookworm can be your friend because it will only spell out disaster. They might put you in a verge of craziness when they start teaching you and other players on how to play the game and telling all of you what’s right and what’s not. Their kind is really annoying. They are full of bad habits like criticizing someone when they made a bad play and laughing at their mistakes. The concerned player may wish to transfer at a friendlier table or will try to redeem himself by playing a lot better. It only means one thing, you should not worry about the ordinary skills that the bookworm may have but let your concern dwell on how they behave at the poker table.

Selectivity and Aggression

The bookworm has a compact game before flop. But their weakness would be seen at post-flop. This is due to the number of books they have read, a jumble of ideas in their head and will have concepts fighting to one another inside their minds to find them continue during post flop. Those poker players who wrote a book about poker have justified their weaknesses inside those books. So the bookworm will continue to base his game on these books and picked up all the weaknesses inside all of it. With this, you may expect that a bookworm will play a loose and too aggressive game during post flop.

And because the only aspect of poker wherein the general poker players agree would be the strength of your starting hand, then its the only part that the bookworm truly understands.

The bookworm is somehow aggressive. They are particularly happy to bet but if someone take the chance to play against them they will scared to wits unless they have an excellent hand.

Predictability

Yes, the bookworms know about deceptive plays as what they learn from the book. But they are nothing near to a deceptive player. Their style can be read clearly because they often use the same one.

Poker IQ

This sort of poker personalities have low poker IQ even though they might actually have memorizes the poker books they are reading. This is due to the fact that given a change in the gaming situation, the bookworm will not know how to adjust his game because their knowledge is only base on the books they have read and not on their own personal experiences. But they are not aware or ignore to be aware that the authors who wrote those books have written their advice under the general conditions and because situations vary in every play those general advice will not be really as effective. But then bookworms treat those books with reverie and will follow each steps like its the most important thing in poker.

“Hey, BOOKWORMS You’re playing poker not building a desk, you can’t just follow instructions!”

Bookworm are very narrow minded. They think that they what they know is the always the right thing to do and nothing else. They assume that everyone should follow what they think is right and whoever disagrees with them should be susceptible for them to criticize and laugh at.

Adjustments

In order for you to defeat a bookworm, it is important that you become their “friend”. Then start up a talk with them and they will show you what they knew and will eventually brag about their game play.

But if ever they strike out your effort in befriending them then its time to put up your aggressiveness into play. Stay aggressive and don’t be afraid to bet against them if they will.

The current and growing popularity of poker has spawned the establishment of online poker schools and poker universities. If you are a poker enthusiast, you may be considering enrollment in a poker university. Is this something you should invest your time and money in? If so, how will you determine which school to choose? There are so many to choose from.

The other and more practical way to learn poker is to enroll in an online poker university or similar formal training program. Though there is an admission fee, this is a less expensive way to learn the nuances and strategies of the game.

There are two ways to learn the fine art of winning poker. Simply playing as often as possible will give you experience, which is considered the best teacher. This is very expensive and has been known to frustrate new players enough to give up. Who ever said that the experience you use to learn has to be yours personally, anyway?

There are two ways to learn how to play poker. One is by simply playing as often as possible and learning from your mistakes. This is a good way to learn poker, but it is not cost effective because with this method you stand to lose a great deal of money along the way to becoming a master.

First, the poker university must be established by an expert poker player. Experienced and successful professional players act as mentors to share what they already know. The other crucial item you should look for is whether or not the school teaches bankroll management, one of the most important aspects of poke. If either of these points is missing from a sit that you are considering, it may be best for you to look elsewhere.

When you have found a site that seems right for you, consider what others have said about the training involved. Look for a well-visited program. There should be plenty of testimonials by former students and proof of real world earnings by those students. Credibility is key here.

Enrolling in a poker university is for serious poker players who want to make money from the game. The information and techniques that you will learn from these schools can make you a healthy living if you effectively use what they teach you.

When playing in a No-Limit Hold ‘em tournaments, I discovered many of situations where calling is the most excellent obtainable option. A strategic call might keep you from being broke in a hand where you hold a great, but second class hand. Otherwise, a well-timed call might permit you to elevate a pot with a hand that wouldn’t win at showdown.

The most annoying thing that you could ever do is to call over and over again. On the contrary, the common kind of thinking is that when you’re playing a hand, you are to bet, raise or fold.

Let say that you have a stack that is about above the average while in the middle stages of a tournament. Then your opponent whom is tight player opens in early position made a raise of three times the big blind. You decided not to fold tens after seeing your pocket tens. As you’ve notice for awhile now that this might be an excellent hand. In circumstances like this, what the majority of people would say or do is to try to throw a large re-raise. Probing this example will enable you to see that a call is a extremely useful way for wining but not taken to its full potential.

You will certainly end up committed to the pot and will avail no choice but call if your opponent moves all-in. Some will say that this may depend on the size of your stack, but remember that this (re-raise) is still an very dangerous move. If you are stuck in this condition, you will most likely be up against a higher pair or, at best, A-K. You wouldn’t want to commit each and every one your chips when you’re either a big underdog or a cuddly poppy.

By calling the open-raise, you will definitely have a better chance to make a good pick after the flop. You can fold to whichever bet for a flop might come as A-Q-7, knowing there is no chance that your hand is best. If you see a flop of 4-4-6 and your opponent bets, consider a raise. Consider that your opponents might be holding A-K and would maybe fold at that point. If your opponent moves all-in, then you can be sure as hell that your tens are no value at all.

Another thing to take note is that, it is definite to give you a great help by determining the strength of your opponent’s hand, by action, check or bet. A flop by force would cause your opponents to act in response. You may perhaps have seen three of the five community cards before committing the size of your stack. Keep in mind that, you have a lot more to put into thought if you just call the preflop.

While you are in a late position with pocket 7s, a player from middle position open-raises. And let say, that your opponent is holding a pocket jacks. In this situation, I would like to demonstrate a way to give you great advantage by calling a pre-flop. Continuing on, with the flop as A-K-4, it’s virtually impossible to find such solution for the player with jacks to carry on with the hand. A check from opponent is definite. Bear this in mind that the outcome will without doubt force a fold by bet representing the ace.

A lot of beginners come out willing to make all of their plays prior to the flop. Doing the best they can to get all-in, they will go on re-raising. Playing after the flop paves the way to many possible prospects for tough lay downs and considerably good bluffs that may not be available on the pre-flop. Remember that playing post-flop is really an enjoyable way to play the game. Try several calls in spots where you might have re-raised. Have fun and earn those cash that you truly deserve! So master these steps and try to add more strategies and you can be sure as hell that you will be on your way wining loads of cash.

Anyone who is an experienced player of Omaha Hi/Lo knows that there is a huge variety of hands, and it can be difficult to know which hands are true good hands, and which ones just look good but should be folded. In reality there are more hands that should be let go than played.

When you are playing Texas Holdem or Omaha Hi/Lo you should only be in for around 20% of the flops. Anything more then that could mean you are probably playing too loose. The first thing you must know before you ever sit down at a Omaha Hi/Lo table; you must know which hands should be let go.

There are of course, some hands that are just obviously not good poker hands. Those are the ones you will be able to easily fold and shouldnt have any problem with. That hands that just do not look good will be instant folds for most people, unless you are one of those people who think it is best to play every single hand because you never know what will come up on the flop. If that is how you think; it is almost sure that you are a losing poker player.

Other hands may be a bit more difficult to determine, as they may look good on the surface but when you examine the odds it is obvious that they are not good hands to keep. One such hand is the Omaha Hi/Lo is the 4567 ” it looks good, but it really isnt.

This hand feels like a good one because there are many possibilities to catch a straight. Unfortunately this is simply not true; there is not a very good possibility of catching a straight and not a good chance that you will be end up with a low hand.

Big Pair Lookout

Many people assume that a high pair hand is automatically a winning hand to go with and dont pay attention to what the pair comes with. Something like KK28 off suit may seem like a great hand but it likely isnt going to add up to anything and you will lose, unless you manage to pick up another king and a pair.

The celebrated double-Ace hand is also something to watch out for. If all you have is the two aces then with no other cards to support it you may want to walk away. A high pocket pair in Omaha does not guarantee a winning hand, so be careful and make sure you can make something out of your hand before you proceed.

For the most part you should be on the lookout for cards that work well together. This means you should look for cards that are suited together since they will give you a better chance at winning. With suited hands you will have more options available. This will give you better odds of winning the high hand as well as the low hand, so you dont only have to try to win the low hand. Players who only try to win on low hands are not going to be as successful.

If you can learn to fold these types of hands and play the good ones you will win more then you will lose. Then when you mix that together with some good reads, math, good decisions and all the other things you can do to become better; you will find that making money playing Omaha Hi/Lo is a lot simpler then you thought. The hardest part is getting your game all together and getting everything in the right place. It all starts with letting go of the bad

It is inevitable that at some time while playing poker you will lose. If you go into a poker tournament believing that you will always win the only thing you will end up being is wrong. To be a good poker player you have to realize that losing is just a part of the process, and in order to win at poker you will sometimes have to lose.

There are many different reasons that you would have to lose. For one, you could lose just because your opponent has the best hand. This is something that is going to happen. This isn’t normally a hindrance for many people. Just about everyone realizes that they are going to lose hands and they cannot win every time.

What does become a hindrance however is when people hit big losing streaks. The thing you have to remember is that if you can go on big losing streaks you can also go on big winning streaks.

The important thing is the money. If you are winning more money in the long run then you are losing, you are doing okay. Poker is one huge long ongoing game and money is the only way to keep score. As long as you are winning consistently over a long period, you can consider yourself a winning poker player.

There is no player out there who wins every single hand, it is a statistical impossibility. Ultimately poker is a game of chance, which is why the most talented player doesn’t always win. If the best player always won then you would see the same person win every single tournament, and that would get tiresome. Instead, different people win all the time, because every game is unique.

As long as you look at poker from the standpoint of your overall winnings, instead of an individual game, you will be better able to track your progress. For example, you could lose $50 on a game, which would be disappointing, but if over all you are up $500 then it is really no big deal, just a minor setback and you can try to do better next game.

There is a lot you can learn by losing. For example, if you and your opponent square up and are forced to show your hands, you can learn about that person’s betting style based on the hand they have. The next time they bet the same way, they probably have a similar hand and you can get the better of them.

In some cases, you will need to lose a hand or two just to beat that player the next time around. If you get the right information you may be able to take his money for the rest of the tournament.

If you just keep in mind that poker is ongoing and that you have to lose to win, your life as a poker player will be much simpler. There are just so many different factors out there that it is impossible to win all the time. You have to be able to win more times then you lose and fro there the money will come in. Improve when you can improve and be willing to change our style of play. The rest will all fall into place.

Not all Poker players can use the same strategy effectively.

A good poker strategy can be determined by a multitude of different things. We will be going over a few of these here.

A good thing to keep your mind on is the amount of psychology that is involved in poker. Psychology in poker is essential to consistently win big pots.

It’s not only your play that is important, you also need to be able to get inside of the players heads to get an even further advantage over them.

Forcing yourself to adopt a certain mindset is of vital importance. Dropping any notion that poker is an easy game, or that you will make trucks loads of money is important. If this was at all true everyone who played poker would be rich.

Psychology in poker encompasses many areas. Some key points to focus on would be other players with nervous twitches, having and idea of what other players are thinking, noticing another player has a shaken voice.

You must develop a burning desire to succeed at poker or more then likely you will not succeed. Without this desire firmly in place putting in the time that it takes to transform your game into a winning game probably will not happen at all.

Taking time to learn the basics of playing poker and putting these basic strategies in effect may seem obvious. Unfortunately for most new players this never seems to happen.

Bluffing, slow playing, variations of the games, and knowing pot odds are some good basic rules that need to be put in use effectively prior to any new players jumping into a big money cash game or tournament.

Poker has always been a game of skill, but the most skilled poker player in the world would never be a great poker player without enough experience.

A rule that every poker player should set for themselves is to establish a bank roll. This bank roll should be the only money that the new poker player will use to play poker with. No other monies outside of this fun should be used to play cards with.,
